You think of a character for yourself and you use that character to walk around in a world you think of yourselve. You make up a story together with other characters (controlled by other members ofcourse) and so the story grows. How do you start?
You must first post a topic in the "The Characters" sub-section, in which you tell us a bit about your character. You can tell us as much as you want, or can think of. It could be about his past, present or even future. You can also say a very few things and make him a very mysterious character. Just make sure that we know a name. Characters may vary from any race, sex, age etc.
When you have your character ready, you can partisipate with it in any story that is running at that moment. For now there will be only one story, but in the future there might be multiple story's which can even run through eachother. When you have choosen the place where you will start playing a role in the story, you start posting.
The story won't stay in one place, so characters move from one place to an other. Make sure you know where you are to prevent confusion for you can't be at 2 places at the same time.
There are a few simple rules:
- Don't kill other characters, without aurtorisation from the owner.
- Don't give your character abusive names.
- Don't give other characters orders. This to make sure there won't be any misunderstandings.
- Make sure that what you post is understandable.
If you follow these rules, all will be well. If a story ends, it will be locked and placed in the 'Old Times' sub-section, for anyone to read or re-read. If you want to read some example RPG's, go to the Forum Archive, there you will find some examples in the RPG section in the 'The Old Times' sub-section.
If in an RPG you want to ask something that has nothing to do with the story you do it: 'Out Of Character' (OOC). If you want to say something again while using your character, you use 'Back In Character' (BIC). Use this to make sure everyone knows what is part of the story and what is not.
