Does that make him an 'O or an 'El, do you take a trial before becoming a 'La or not.
He is apparently from Bor'Kan sept

Exactly, but we don't know if that includes a teenage Shas becoming a Shas'La of if that is automatic and the first Trial is for promotion to Shas'Ui

| if we take the Firewarrior novel fluff into account, they all start of as shas'saal, shas in training. they all gain the rank of shas'la when they have their first real battle. In the novel they call that a trial by fire, so Alo'rra is a shas'el.
i really need to get the new rulebook, there is so much to add to the lexicon.

BTW, Forgeworld updated the rules on Shas'O R'Myr to take into account 5th ed and added some fluff for him there as well. Apparently the death of an Ethereal on his watch has psychologically scarred him and he has a serious chip on his shoulder when it comes to imperials now.
Everyone should check out the forgeworld site and download the PDF before they put it in a book you have to spend money to get.

| Thanks for the tip about the update, i really like the extra fluff they have given him. Although the taros campaign book was full of story's about him, the rules could do with a bit more character and now he's got it!

| yeah. Although honestly I would probably never use him as a specific character, just count his gun as regular twin-linked plasma and a shield generator.
Of course what I really did was cannibalize some of his kits for parts. The shields went on the bodyguards, the shoulder pads denote shas'vres or higher, the chest pieces were for commanders, etc... etc...
