| I have not had the chance to actually play with them yet, but my plan is to use plasma rifles for terminator hunting

| it says on the forgeworld website that AI apoc supersedes update 06, so i guess 1-5.
I had assumed that each load out would suit certain enemies, however, it seems apparent that some could be a waste of points compared to using say, battlesuits.
for instance, plasma looks good, but to be truly effective they need to be within 12", and unlike battlesuits they lack JSJ so could be left quite vulnerable.
whereas, at least to me, missile pods, and especially rail rifles with their range, with BS4 and twin linked, look rather attractive. | | Back to top | |

| I see the advantage in speed as outweighing the lack of JSJ. My biggest problem with termies is when they deep strike in, I need to be able to get overwhelming force to bear on the squad the very first turn they arrive and 12" then shoot works better than 6" shoot and 6" again.

| But meltas will only have a very limited # of shots. If used right they should kill enough figs in the target unit that only 1 or 2 piranhas are in danger, and if they can take out 200+ points of deep striking termies and only loose 160 points in the process I'll be happy, since those termies probably had the potential to destroy my entire army.

on a side note i killed a squad of nurgle termies with a squadron of gundrons and a squad of vespid in my las game so you dont really need high strength weapons to kill enemies, just enough fire power, wait we're tau so no problem there...
