While searching the web i have picked up some rumours about the Eldar creating the ethereals, as to make sure the safety of the galaxy is ensured if they would ever vanish from it. These rumours are based on Xenology, a book with a lot of info on Tau Kroot, Orks, Eldar and some new races, including the Q'orl. It seems that the Q'orl have a similar diamond shaped organ as the ethereals have, that also defends them from chaos coruptions. It also appears that the eldar have abducted one of the Q'rol a long time ago. It's now quite easy to think that the eldar created the ethereals...

Shas

One caste for the protection of our race,
for their skills and strategies will defend us all.

One caste for the construction of a safe place,
for without their technology our empire would fall.

One caste for our faraway travels,
for their ships will bring us through the galaxy.

One caste for the talking at all levels,
for their smooth words will pave our road to victory.

In our galaxy there will only be the Tau’va.
One caste to rule them all, one caste to guid them,
one caste to bring them all, and in the era of the Mont’au, bind them.
In our galaxy there will only be the Tau’va.

Somewhere or other an Eldar Farseer (From Ulthwe I think and I can't remember specific name if it was anyone famous or what not.) Said that the Tau where the future of the galaxy.

I swear that this is true or at least his/her words where along those lines and I haven't made this up or if I have made this up then I don't believe I have

you mean the quote from the codex:
I have followed the myriad potential of the Tau with great interest. Though barely even striplings compared to us, I feel a strange protectiveness towards them. In time I believe they will exceed even our greatest feats and master the darkness within their souls.

Hmmm it might be that but that message dosen't seem to fit completely with the one in my head (which could be my brain editing things) but that could be it or that at least might be why I thought it was an Ulthwe person :< who knows.

I do believe that Ethereal Shas just earned himself 10pts.
5pts. to Hellios for being a good sport.

From what I can gather from Xenology and Star of Damocles(SoD); Eldar are the babysitters of the Tau race.

This can be seen through the following points:

- (Implied, SoD) Tau space was engineered to accomadate faster growth.

-(Implied, SoD or Forgotten Text) Damocles Gulf and Peridus Rift ward warp-attached races and(Poss. Suggesting)are safeguards.

-(Proven, Xenology) Eldar required a Q'orl Queen in return for helping the race.

-(proven, Xenology) Queen taken by agitated Eldar the (Poss. Suggesting) the Eldar knew of looming annihilation of Tau race via Civil War)

-(Proven, Tau Codex) Ethereals randomly appear, maybe linked (Poss. Suggesting) with above point.

-(Proven, Xenology) Diamond Organ comparable to Q'orl Queen organ hinting(Highly Poss. Suggesting) Eldar architect.

Therefore, with the indirection of the Eldar, Ethereals were intergrated in Tau Society, thus creating the Deus Ex Machina (experienced in the Civil Wars) as there was no way in HELL that it could of happened naturally without Eldar exposure.

This could also imply that the Eldar are following in their fathers' footsteps, the Old Ones.

But in the span of things, were is humanity?

SNOOGANS!!

P.S. Is it me, or is there something in my blog?

I have a question...Something that i was thinking through reading this discusion...remember the tear shaped organ in the forhead? Did the Tau tribes have the same organ in there forhead long before the Aun's ever apeared to stop the civil war? Or did it just kind of appear in the rest of the race through breeding? Very interesting....
